Our Founding Story
In 2012, Sam moved to Sweden and found himself at the heart of Gothenburg's bustling restaurant scene. While managing multiple establishments, he uncovered a startling truth:
Food waste was not only costing businesses millions but also costing our planet dearly by significantly contributing to climate change.
The bins behind the restaurants were overflowing with food waste, representing missed opportunities for savings, sustainability, and meaningful change.
Sam knew that food waste wasn't just a local issue; it was a global crisis demanding immediate action. He understood the critical need to act locally while thinking globally. Addressing food waste in restaurants could not only save individual businesses millions but also trigger a transformative ripple effect throughout the entire food supply chain, revolutionizing our approach to sustainability.
Driven by this urgent vision, we founded Bazaro with one clear goal:

From Vision to Movement
From the challenges of those early struggles emerged a new concept: Bazaro InvoiceIQ. This solution zeroed in on the core needs of restaurant owners, streamlining finances and simplifying purchases. By making operations smoother for restaurants, Bazaro earned trust, forged partnerships, and collected the data necessary to reignite its broader mission.
Today, with over 1,000 customers on board, Bazaro has evolved from a product into a movement. InvoiceIQ paved the way for a new chapter: Bazaro KitchenFlow, launched in 2024. KitchenFlow is more than just software; it's a game-changer for restaurants, empowering them to gain control, make informed decisions, and reduce waste with precision.
But we're not stopping there. By 2026, our goal is ambitious yet clear: to provide accurate, actionable data to restaurants, producers, and policymakers, aiming to reduce food waste across the entire food chain.
